My Very First Bento Box

My inspiration to make this type/kind of bento box came from my friend Christine. She wasn’t a scary or Halloween type of person or anything, but she found this picture on Google and showed it to me. From there, I created my own ‘scary’ bento box.

I did check other pictures of bento boxes, most were cute, but I don’t know why I didn’t get inspired to make cute bento boxes. I planned out what I want and how I’ll do it, and here’s the procedure.

Ingredients:

- (2) Sausages

- (1) Apple/ apple peel

- (1) Lettuce

- (4) Slice Cheese

- (1/2) Onion

- (1) Big tomato

- (1) Salt & Pepper

- (1) Chicken Egg (boiled)

- (1) Big Seaweed ‘sheet’

- (1) Mango

- Ketchup or chili

- (Optional) Shredded Seaweed

* Step 23 is optional

** when the egg has completed boiling, let it cool down

***A mini/small cupcake/muffin container is needed

Procedure:

1. Boil the egg for about 15 – 20 min.

2. Peel a big piece of lettuce and then wash it

3. Place the lettuce at the bottom of the container

4. Make salsa on a separate bowl(using the tomato, onion, cheese, salt and pepper) without nachos

5. Place the salsa on top of the lettuce

6. Take out the apple, wash it

7. Peel the skin of off the apple and then cut it into 4 long nails

8. Take out 2 sausages and slice both sausages in half

9. Put the sausages in the top left corner, anyway you want

10. Place the nails on each sausage

11. Peel of the skin off of the mango and then slice it into small strips, or cut it into small cubes

13. Put the strips(or cubes) of mangoes into the cupcake container

14. Place the mangoes in the bottom right corner of the bento box container

15. Peel the skin off the egg and then chop it in half(one half can be bigger than the other one, it’s okay)

16. Cut top and bottom curve of the boiled egg

17. Scratch the egg parts with a knife a couple times around

18. Pour out some chilly or ketchup

19. Use your finger, whip a piece of ketchup/chilly and then start painting the outside of the egg. You should see that some of the ketchup is sinking inside/into the scratching mark you made

20. Place the egg parts, one on the salsa and one in the top right corner

21. Cut the seaweed into 2 small circles and then place them on the chopped tip of both eggs

22. Cut an even smaller circle out of cheese to make the pupil of the eye

23. Sprinkle on some shredded seaweed

Thus there you have it! My so called ‘scary’ bento box.
